🔍 Grading Image Filters – What They Reveal

At Arkezon, we use advanced visual filters to assist in the accurate grading and authentication of collectible cards. Each effect is designed to highlight specific details or potential issues.

💡 UV Effect

Purpose:
This filter simulates how the card would appear under UV light, commonly used in authentication. It helps detect:

  • Hidden alterations (such as ink touch-ups)

  • UV-reactive inks present in genuine prints

  • Residual substances like adhesives or cleaning agents

⚫ Surface Defect

Purpose:
Enhances visibility of surface-level flaws such as:

  • Scratches and dents

  • Stains or grime

  • Foil or gloss inconsistencies
This helps determine how clean or worn the surface is under close inspection.

🔁 Invert Colors

Purpose:
Inverting the colors boosts contrast in unexpected ways, revealing:

  • Subtle scratches or dirt

  • Signs of tampering or recoloring

  • Surface or texture inconsistencies

⚪ Highlight Whites

Purpose:
Emphasizes the brightest parts of the card, making it easier to detect:

  • Whitening or edge chipping

  • Fading and light damage

  • Loss of color saturation

🔷🟠 Blue & Orange Focus

Purpose:
This filter boosts blue and orange color ranges to help:

  • Spot color inconsistencies or signs of forgery

  • Reveal chemical residues invisible under normal light

  • Highlight holofoil patterns or ink anomalies on special editions
